COMING SOON TO MVEC: AMI MONTESSORI ORIENTATION & ASSISTANT COURSE (0–3 YEARS)

The first three years of life are a remarkable period of growth, discovery, and development, laying the foundations for a child’s future learning and independence. Understanding what children truly need during these formative years begins with learning to observe, respect, and support their natural development.

HOW CAN WE BETTER UNDERSTAND OUR CHILDREN?

HOW CAN WE RECOGNIZE CHILDREN’S TRUE NEEDS DURING THE FIRST THREE YEARS OF LIFE?

Have you ever wondered:

  • Why do children sometimes behave in ways that adults find difficult to understand?
  • When children are not yet able to express themselves in words, how can we understand what they need?
  • How can we support children without unintentionally interfering with their natural development?

From birth to three years of age, children undergo remarkable growth and development. Beyond physical growth, they are building the foundations for language, movement, cognition, emotional development, and independence.

During this crucial stage, every action, every repetition, and every attempt to explore the world independently can hold important significance for a child’s development.

When adults understand the natural developmental characteristics of young children, they are better equipped to observe, recognize their needs, and prepare an appropriate environment that supports their development, rather than focusing solely on correcting their behavior.

With the aim of providing parents and educators with a solid foundation in Montessori education, Montessori Vietnam Education Center (MVEC) is offering the AMI Montessori Orientation and Assistant Courses for Ages 0–3, commencing on October 26, 2026.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

Through these courses, participants will have the opportunity to explore the fundamental principles of child development from birth to three years of age through the Montessori approach.

  • The Absorbent Mind: Understand how young children naturally absorb information and learn from their surrounding environment during the first years of life.
  • Sensitive Periods: Learn to recognize the periods when children show a particular interest in and readiness to develop specific skills and abilities.
  • Observation of the Child: Develop observation skills to better understand the developmental needs underlying children’s behavior.
  • Motor, Language, and Sensory Development: Explore how children’s motor skills, language, and sensory abilities emerge and develop during the first three years of life.
  • The Prepared Environment: Learn how to organize spaces and select appropriate activities that support children’s concentration, exploration, and growing independence.
  • The Role of the Adult: Understand when to offer assistance, when to observe, and when to allow children the opportunity to act independently.
  • The Role of the Montessori Assistant for Ages 0–3: Explore the responsibilities and professional principles involved in supporting children and teachers within a Montessori environment.

NOT JUST FOR EDUCATORS — PARENTS ARE WELCOME TOO!

These courses are suitable for:

  • Parents: Those who wish to gain a deeper understanding of their children’s development and discover appropriate ways to support them during the first years of life.
  • Early Childhood Educators: Those who wish to build a foundational understanding of Montessori education and learn how to support children aged 0–3.
  • Montessori Teachers and Assistants: Those who wish to deepen their understanding of the adult’s role and the preparation of an appropriate environment for young children.
  • Those New to Montessori: Individuals who wish to explore the Montessori approach in a structured way, beginning with its fundamental principles.

You do not need to become a Montessori teacher to begin understanding your child better.

Sometimes, what matters most is not finding ways to make children conform to adults’ expectations, but learning to observe and understand them, while creating the conditions that allow them to develop at their own natural pace.

Understanding children does not begin with what we teach them. It begins with how we observe them, recognize their needs, and seek to understand them.
